Las Letras is located in the [Centro] district (https://parkimeter.com/es/parking-madrid/cerca-de-madrid-centro) of Madrid. The area is delimited by Calle de la Cruz and Calle de Atocha, Plaza de Jacinto Benavente and Paseo del Prado. Some of its most important streets are Calle de las Huertas, Calle del Prado, Calle de Echegaray, and the squares of Plaza del Ángel and Plaza de Santa Ana.
The name indicates Spanish literary activity throughout the 16th and 17th centuries. Some of the most remarkable literary figures of the Spanish Golden Century, such as Miguel de Cervantes, Quevedo, Góngora and Lope de Vega, have taken up residence there.
