If you are visiting Porto, the Street Infante D.Henrique is a must-see. The square with the same name, houses the statue of the Infante. Infante D.Henrique is one of the most important personalities in Portugal's history. He was the great promoter of the Discoveries, the period when the Portuguese ventured to sail unknown seas, discovering African lands and the way to the Orient. Close to Praça do Infante, is the well-known Palácio da Bolsa (Stock Exchange Palace), whose interior is stunning, and the São Francisco Church. A 2-minute walk away is Ribeira Square with beautiful views of the Douro River and Gaia.
